Helping children and adolescents process their trauma is difficult. They are afraid that they will feel all of those feelings again and would rather just forget. We as clinicians know that the traumatic material is already stored in their brains just waiting to be triggered. It is a tough sell to help them understand that if we talk about what happened, their brains will do and feel better. This quick teaching is specifically designed to help clinicians with a specific strategy to help prepare our clients to move forward on the path to healing.
